Configurator for prefabricated and monolithic connections

CISTA is an advanced product configurator for selecting structural bearings, compliant with the approval of the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). This tool is particularly useful for designers and structural engineers who wish to independently select or optimize structural bearings in their projects.

Challenge

CALENBERG INGENIEURE GmbH has commissioned the development of an elastomeric product configurator.

Our solution is a product configurator for construction systems that enables the selection of an optimal structural bearing based on data such as compressive force, horizontal displacement, and element rotation. The user can choose a bearing using one of three methods: engineering, economic, or verify a bearing selected independently. The results are displayed in a results table within the browser and as a detailed PDF report. An additional advantage is the generation of 3D models, which can be exported to the ALLPLAN software. Upon completion, the user can submit a request for a quote to Calenberg.

Our approach

The CODIN team, specializing in the development of web applications and product configurators for the construction industry, completed a project for Calenberg Ingenieure based on four key stages:

1.Client needs analysis

We conducted in-depth technical consultations with the Calenberg team to fully understand their requirements. We identified the key features the configurator needed to have in order to meet the users’ expectations comprehensively.

2. Design and prototyping:

We created interactive prototypes, which were presented for review. We incorporated the client’s suggestions to ensure the final product was as intuitive and functional as possible, providing a seamless user experience.

3. Implementation

The delivered features were enhanced with our own innovation, and during the execution, we identified additional client needs, which allowed for further project development.

4. Maintenance and development

We provide ongoing system maintenance, ensuring its compatibility with new web technologies, while also enhancing the application by implementing new functionalities in line with the client’s needs.
